Project 2 - Minima

Site 1

Hey guys, we've got images and measurments of the proposed site(s) that Justin, Dave and myself got the other day. Might help with the design process.

The site shown, (option 1), is located in the internal courtyard of the Deakin Waterfront Campus. The living capsule is to be situated on the second level over looking the courtyard. The site measures 7800mm long * 3630mm wide(between inside of column and outside of window frame) * 2770mm high. These are the sites maximum measurements, therefore the living capsule might have to be a little smaller to allow for some clearances and ease of construction/demounting etc.

The timber rails shown above, are to be used as floor joists. They measure 7800mm long and are 55mm thick. They are spaced at 475 centres (the gap between each rail is 420mm).

Access to the site is via the walkway on the second level that runs the length of the courtyard.

Site 2

Site option 2, is located on the waters edge of Corio Bay, on a flat clearing. Situated out the front of the Deakin University facade and just north of Cunningham pier.

Boardered by water, to the east, a car park, to the north, access road, to the west and playground, to the south.

The site allows any orentation, scale and design.
